The curriculum equips the children with the essential knowledge, skills and understanding of a broad range of subjects.
- the curriculum to be broad, relevant, and rich, taking into account the international and technological world we live in;
- the children to be fully engaged in their learning, and with this in mind we teach in a practical fun way;
- the children to develop the personal qualities they need to be good citizens and to respond to the changing contexts of their future lives.
The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
In September 2014 a new Special Educational Needs Code of Practice for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities was introduced by the government.
